Taylor + Spencer | Bright Wedding
In March, I was contacted by a local photographer to participate in a styled wedding shoot they were organizing. Styled shoots are an opportunity for creative professionals to come together and push the limits of creativity. This is something I had never done before, and I could not pass up an opportunity to put my own spin on the invitations and other pieces!
The theme was a mid-century modern picnic with a citrus color scheme (everything from lemons to blood oranges). The overall feel was going to be casual, bright and fun! It was up to me to come up with the invitations, menus, place cards and save the dates.
I used the invitations to set the tone. I wanted to incorporate bright and bold color, so I landed on orange as the main color! I also really wanted to push the limits with the design and design something untraditional. The final product was a square invitation with added focus on the date using a bold font and placing the “You are invited” text on its side.
These elements carried over the RSVPs. Don’t miss the bright orange return envelope!
Using side text and bold font again, the same elements carried very nicely to the day-of menu and place cards.
Let’s not forget about the Save the Dates! I chose to stick with a traditional size and postcard style, but played around with the wording. I highlighted “Free Cake” and “an open bar, too” to have some fun and spark the guests’ interest.
Throughout this shoot, my worked with featured alongside a few talented Ohio wedding vendors:

It rained. It was muggy. It was full spring in Ohio. BUT it was full of color and mid-century inspiration. It was so much fun to have full creative freedom and thank you again to the ladies from Portrait Identity for asking me to be a part of this!
